The process of loving your poetry

I’ve always thought that the artist is only as strong as his weakest link or achievement. My respect for M. Night Shaymalan hit rock bottom after The Village. His movies have left me cold since then. I will give him one more chance with his upcoming movie about Ang, but that IS IT! If that one is no good, I’ll never watch another of his movies. Oh and you know that I am the hugest fan of Airbender in the World.

Days of Saturn and Sun is a bit forced and is not among my prouder achievements. I hadn’t written in days when I coaxed this one along to completion.

Negative points aside, this piece does hold a special meaning for me. I wanted a poem about the weekend with some amount of uplifting tilt to transport me from the doldrums this rainy weekend has seemingly left me enduring. All that water needed a poem along with hopes for the coming Sun. I like the shift in explaining why to give hope weight in your life. I use some fanciful terminology in this work my readers may not see elsewhere. I love ‘Spread light branch’ and may make it my new catch phrase.

I wanted to point out how grateful I am of the Earth for having me. Even though it throws rock and rain at you on a daily basis (at hundreds of miles per hour) it deserves the turn of phrase this poem may give.

We have days named for Saturn and Sun and Moon. I wonder why Thursday wasn’t Terrasday. I’d change it right now if people didn’t keep asking me what day Terrasday was. I have to keep telling them it’s Thursday.

This poem is alright. The more time I spend with it, the more its nature grows on me and truly fills me with hope for a brighter future. All these thoughts in my head make me hope for the gravity that will keep me grounded. This is a good earth I see myself having tomorrow.
